Tredrea has knee surgery
March 12, 2006
PORT Adelaide captain Warren Tredrea has had surgery after dislocating his kneecap in a weekend AFL practice match.
The Power said today the injury, suffered in yesterday’s practice match against Brisbane at AAMI Stadium, would sideline him for three to five weeks.
Tredrea is expected to miss at least Port’s opening home and away match, against the Kangaroos on April 1, and possibly several more matches thereafter.
A club spokeswoman said he had surgery today to rule out any injury other than the dislocation and to tidy up any minor damage.
The injury occurred in a marking contest, with Tredrea having to be assisted from the arena by medical staff, who returned the kneecap to its original position without difficulty.
It continued a history of similar problems for the star forward, who had previously dislocated both kneecaps twice.
