Marquette freshman guard Scott Christopherson had right knee surgery today and is indefinitely out.
Christopherson underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair a preexisting injury to his meniscus.
The Golden Eagles believe the 6-foot-3 Christopherson will play this season.
Coach Tom Crean says they were shocked to learn Christopherson was injured and felt surgery was the best option.

Knee Surgery for Boston Red Socks David Ortiz
Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on his right knee Tuesday.
The procedure was designed to address a cartilage problem and was performed at Massachusetts General Hospital by Dr. Thomas Gill.
Ortiz will begin rehabilitation immediately and is expected to be ready for spring training.
